READING – Danielle Nadine Slotter, daughter of David C.
Slotter of New Hanover and the late Beth A. Lehman, became the bride of Ian
Christian Lawrence of Pottstown in a Quaker self-uniting wedding ceremony at
the Barn at Flying Hills.
Readings were offered by D. Clayr Slotter, stepmother of the
bride.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Boyertown Area High School
and a 2010 graduate of Millersville University with a bachelor of science
degree in education. She is a 5th grade teacher at Pottstown Middle
School.
The bridegroom, son of Samuel F. and Susan B. Lawrence of
Pottstown, is a 2006 graduate of Pottstown High School and a 2010 graduate of
Haverford College with a bachelor of arts degree. He is a 7th grade
teacher at Pottstown Middle School.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by
Michael Barrett, man of honor. Bridesmaids were Casey Gillmer and Jill
Lawrence, sister of the bridegroom.
Seth Lawrence, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.
A reception was held at the Barn at Flying Hills.
The couple will reside at 1461 Sunset Drive, Pottstown.
Lightcap-Ambruch wedding
SPRING CITY – Ashley Lightcap, daughter of Russell and Mary
Ann Lightcap, 639 Willow St., Pottstown, became the bride of Zachary Ambruch of
Pottstown at Spring Hollow Golf Club, 3350 Schuylkill Road.
Judge Scott Palladino officiated.
Readings were offered by Emily Sassaman.
A sleeve from the wedding dress of the bride’s grandmother was
wrapped around the bride’s flowers. The bride wore her grandmother’s garter and
jewelry.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Pottstown High School, a
2009 graduate of Lock Haven University with a bachelor of science degree in
sports administration and a 2011 graduate of Alvernia University with a master
of business administration degree. She is a legal assistant to the litigation
group at Stevens and Lee, P.C., King of Prussia.
The bridegroom, son of Doug and Anne Ambruch, 1407 Cherry
Lane, Pottstown, is a 2006 graduate of Pottstown High School. He is a labor
foreman at Nyleve Bridge Corp., Emmaus.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attended by
her sister, Jessica Shumway, matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Steph Via,
Kirstin Mayberry, Emily Sassaman and Amanda Fenn. Flower girl was Makayla
Shumway, the bride’s niece.
Chris Ambruch, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.
Ushers were DJ Via, Chris Bonenberger, Andy Long and Tom Watson. Ring bearers
were Talon and Silas Via.
After a reception at Spring Hollow Golf Club, the newlyweds
left on a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Whittaker anniversary
LOWER POTTSGROVE – Dr. and Mrs. Richard P. Whittaker will be
celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a 50K bike ride on
the Schuylkill River Trail and a party at their home hosted by their friends
and family. In lieu of gifts, the Whittakers requested donations be made to the
Helen and Robert Whittaker Memorial Park, c/o Chester County Community foundation.
The Whittakers are the parents of two sons, Keith Whittaker
of New Canaan, Conn.; Dr. Scott Whittaker of Arlington, Va.; and two daughters,
Laura Calizzi of The Woodlands, Texas; and Susan Glynn of Dublin, Ireland.
Mrs. Whittaker, the former Margaret Michael, is a 2002
retiree of Penn State University Berks where she was an assistant professor.
Her husband is an orthopedic surgeon, semi-retired, with
Orthopedic Specialists of Pottstown.
They were married on June 27, 1964 in Drexel Hill.
The Whittakers have 11 grandchildren.

Younker-Palmieri engagement
LUMBERTON, N.C. – The
engagement of Meredith Anne Younker and Anthony Joseph Palmieri, both of
Lumberton, N.C., was announced by her parents, Holly and James Younker, 468
Baptist Church Road, East Coventry.
Ms. Younker is a 2006 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High
School and a 2010 graduate of Kutztown University with a bachelor of science
degree in elementary education. She is a kindergarten teacher at Tanglewood
Elementary School in North Carolina.
Her fiancé is the son of Lisa and Anthony Palmieri, Dorsett
Circle, Upper Providence. He is a 2007 graduate of St. Pius X High School and a
2011 graduate of Cabrini College with a bachelor of science degree in
elementary education. He is a third grade teacher at Tanglewood Elementary
School in North Carolina.
A summer 2014 wedding is planned at Blessed Teresa of
Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Schwenksville.
