Katz-Frost engagement




SCHWENKSVILLE – Kara Leigh Katz of Schwenksville became engaged to Eric Frost of Gilbertsville on June 4.
Ms. Katz is the daughter of the late Karen Katz. She is a graduate of the Perkiomen Valley High School and is employed by Metropolitan Veterinary Associates.
Her fiancé is the son of Richard and Sue Frost. He is a graduate of Spring-Ford High School and is employed at Shannondell at Valley Forge.

Wilson-Halter wedding




DOUGLASSVILLE – Brooke Samantha Wilson, daughter of Scott and Jen Wilson, 12 Magnolia Court, Douglassville, became the bride of Nathaniel Robert Halter of Birdsboro in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1312 Old Swede Road.

The Rev. Dr. Steven Simpson, pastor, officiated.

Organist Martha Sitler, violinist Josh Chubb, and soloist Jamie Menarde provided music.

Guest Book Registrars were Courtney Gabbett, cousin of the bride, and Carlie Chubb.

Greeters were Landon and Brayden Halter, brothers of the bridegroom.

Scripture Reader was Jim Hepner, grandfather of the bridegroom.

The bride is a 2014 graduate of Berks Christian School. She is a student at Penn State University Berks Campus.

The bridegroom, son of Brian and Michelle Halter of Birdsboro, is a 2013 graduate of Berks Christian School. He is a student at Liberty University and is the founder and owner of Halter Landscaping.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Nicole Wilson, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Joy Gallie, Olivia Struve, Abigail Straub, Kayla Gabbett, cousin of the bride, and Kirsten Gabbett, cousin of the bride.

Travis Kohler served as best man. Groomsmen were Colin Halter, brother of the bridegroom who is home from the U.S. Army, Blake Morgan, Tyler Ruoss, Randy Tasker and Ethan Albright. Ushers were Brooks Jeffery IV, cousin of the bride, and John Holowko.

After a reception at Reading Country Club the newlyweds left on a wedding trip to St. Lucia. They will reside in Antietam.

McLean-Backenstose wedding





SKANEATELES, N.Y. - Kathleen Kite McLean, daughter of Gardner and Lynn McLean of Skaneateles, N.Y., became the bride of Bradley John Backenstose of New York City in the First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles, N.Y.

The Rev. Dr. Craig Lindsey officiated.

Readings were done by William McLean, cousin of the bride, and Sian-Pierre Regis.

The bride is a graduate of Skaneateles High School and Colgate University, Hamilton, N.Y., with a bachelor of arts degree. She is a senior manager of strategic insights and research at Comedy Central, NYC.

The groom is the son of John and Diane Backenstose of Barto. He is a graduate of The Hill School; Colgate University, Hamilton, N.Y., with a bachelor of arts degree; and The Stern School of Business at New York University, with a master’s degree in business administration. He is a partner, director of agency development at MEC, a media agency in NYC.

The bride was attended by her sister, Carolyn McLean, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristina Backenstose, sister of the groom, Jessica Ruhlman Schoaff, Katie Lee Armijo, Erin Maloney and Brittany Dawson.

Alexander Horn was the best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Lane, Edward Thrasher, Matthew Drummond and Andrew Karlsberg. 

A reception at the Skaneateles Country Club was followed by a honeymoon to Croatia and Montenegro. The couple resides near Union Square in New York City.

Moll-Figueroa engagement






POTTSTOWN – The engagement of Amanda Marie Moll of Pottstown and Ryan Scott Figueroa of Bechtelsville was announced by her parents, Patricia and Andrew Moll, 674 Hawthorne Ave., Pottstown.

Ms. Moll is a 2008 graduate of Pottstown High School, a 2013 graduate of Kutztown University with a bachelor of arts degree in history and a 2014 graduate of Kutztown University with a master’s degree in secondary education. She is a teacher of family and consumer science at the Pottstown Middle School.

Her fiancé is the son of Brenda and Alfred Figueroa, 560 Township Line Road, Bechtelsville. He is a 2008 graduate of Boyertown Area High School and a 2010 graduate of Universal Technical Institute. He is a truck driver with East Penn Manufacturing, Lyon Station.

An April 22, 2017 wedding is planned at New Hanover United Methodist Church, Gilbertsville

Perkins-Kocon engagement





AMITY – The engagement of Heather A. Perkins of Amity and Nathan Kocon of Douglass (Berks) was announced by her parents, Tommy and Jane Perkins, 500 Levengood Road, Amity.

Ms. Perkins is a 2009 graduate of St. Pius X High School and a 2013 graduate of DeSales University with a bachelor of arts degree in business management. She is an AIB and inventory manager with T.P. Trailers Inc., Limerick.

Her fiancé is the son of Edward and Margaret Kocon, 93 Woodside Lane, Douglass (Berks). He is a 2010 graduate of Boyertown Area High School. He is a welder/fabricator with T. P. Trailers Inc., Limerick.
