Smola anniversary





POTTSTOWN  - Mr. and Mrs. Stanley T. Smola will be honored on their 50th wedding anniversary at a celebration hosted by their children at Cutillo’s Restaurant, Sanatoga.

The Smolas are the parents of one son, Stanley Smola Jr. of Boyertown, and four daughters, Lisa Phillips of Lower Pottsgrove, Susan DiSanto of Pottstown, Nancy Biltcliff of Topton, and Donna Dobbs of Pottstown.

Mrs. Smola is the former Mary Ann Hakun. She is a dental assistant with Dr. L. Allan Pyke, Pediatric Dentistry.

Her husband is a retired Senior Electronic Engineer.

They were married on May 4, 1963 at St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Pottstown.

The Smolas have 10 grandchildren.

Bird-Robinson engagement







LIMERICK – The engagement of Amber Nicole Bird of Limerick and Max Robinson of Spring City was announced by her parents, Doug and Tee Bird of Limerick.

Ms. Bird is a 2002 graduate of Spring-Ford Area High School, a 2006 graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor of science degree and a 2011 graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine with a doctor of medicine degree. She is a resident physician in internal medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals, Chicago.

Her fiancé is the son of Phil and Nancy Robinson of Spring City. He is a 2002 graduate of Spring-Ford Area High School, a 2006 graduate of Kutztown University with a bachelor of science degree, and is currently pursuing a master’s in education at St. Joseph’s University. He is a history teacher at Harriton High School in the Lower Merion School District.

A wedding in Philadelphia is planned.

Gerhart-Rubright wedding






BALLY – Julia Gerhart, daughter of Gary and Donna Gerhart of Barto, became the bride of Ryan Rubright of Bechtelsville in Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 610 Pine St.

The bride is a 2008 graduate of Boyertown Area High School and a 2011 graduate of Harcum College, Bryn Mawr. She is an orthodontist assistant with Dr. Leonardo Galletto, DDS, Pottstown, and a waitress at the Pit Stop Tavern, Boyertown.

The bridegroom, son of Harold and Victoria Rubright of Bechtelsville, is a 2007 graduate of Boyertown Area High School. He is a journeyman lineman with Local Union 126 IBEW-Matrix.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Janessa Gerhart, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Samantha Keiser; Dana Rubright, Shelby Rubright and Courtney Spaid, sisters of the bridegroom.

Jared Sachs served as best man. Ushers were Brandon Kemp, Timothy Feroe, Neil Shirk and Robert Spaid, brother-in-law of the bridegroom.

The bride wore her mother’s wedding dress.

A reception was held at the Copperfield Inn, Limerick.

The newlyweds reside in Frederick.

Collins-Ivanowicz engagement





LIMERICK – The engagement of Alisha Nicole Collins of Limerick and Joseph Bryan Ivanowicz of Upper Providence was announced by her parents, David and Joann Collins, 63 Long Meadow Road, Royersford.

Ms. Collins is a 2008 graduate of Spring-Ford Area High School and a 2013 graduate of Cabrini College with a bachelor of arts degree. She is a teacher at the Malvern School of Royersford.

Her fiancé is the son of Bruce and Theresa Ivanowicz, 103 Green St., Upper Providence.
A 2005 graduate of Spring-Ford Area High School, he is a foreman with Asplundh Tree Experts.

An outdoor wedding in the fall of 2014 is planned.
