BLUE BELL – Christina Buffa, daughter of Giacoma Gina Buffa
and the late Guiseppe Buffa, 10 W. 5th St., Bridgeport, became the
bride of Nathaniel Bruce Dawkins of Audubon at the Blue Bell Country Club.
The Rev. Kathleen Spicer officiated at the outdoor ceremony.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Upper Merion High School and
a 2009 graduate of the Antonelli Institute, Glenside, with an associate’s
degree in photography in specialized technology. She is a billing administrator
in the finance department at ExecuPharm, Inc., King of Prussia.
The bridegroom, grandson of Trudie Dawkins of Rockingham,
N.C., is a 2007 graduate of Richmond County Community College, Rockingham, N.C.
He is an assistant manager at Spencer’s, Exton Square Mall.
Given in marriage by her brother, Salvatore Buffa, the bride
was attended by her sister, Rosaria Miller, matron of honor, and Heather
Chasen, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ciara Dawkins, sister of the
bridegroom; Elisabetta Pipia, Megan Addalli and Rosalia Misuraca, cousins of
the bride; and Katie Potts. Flower girls were Victoria Astuto and Briana
Scibilia, cousins of the bride.
Neil Everrett and
Seth Grooms were best men. Ushers were Salvatore Buffa, brother of the bride;
Vincent Miller, nephew of the bride; Michael Smith and Hunter Smith, cousins of
the bridegroom; Anthony Belford and Charles Ferdinand.
Poems were read by the bridegroom’s aunt, Noel Smith, and
Anthony Belford.
The mother of the bride’s wedding veil was used as the swag
on the gazebo for the ceremony.
The bride wore her mother’s pearls. The bride’s engagement
ring was specially made from her mother’s diamond earrings that matched the
mother’s engagement ring.
After a reception at the Blue Bell Country Club, the
newlyweds left on a four-night cruise to the Bahamas courtesy of the bride’s
siblings and families.
Spitko anniversary
GILBERTSVILLE - Mr. and Mrs. Daniel P. Spitko, 211 Aspen
Lane, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
The Spitkos are the parents of two daughters, Lisa Spitko of
Gilbertsville and Amanda Spitko of West Chester, and one son, Tyler Spitko of
Gilbertsville.
Mrs. Spitko, the former Theresa Vandevere, is a speech
pathologist in the Pottstown School District.
Her husband is a senior mortgage development officer with
Sovereign Bank.
They were married May 28, 1988 in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic
Church, Malvern. Msgr. John Gillespie and Rev. James Locke officiated.
Batten anniversary
LIMERICK – Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roger Batten, 607 Village
Drive, formerly of Bridge Street in Spring City, were honored for their 60th
wedding anniversary at a celebration hosted by their family at 9 Freed Ave.,
Spring City.
The Battens are the parents of four daughters, Susan E.
Batten of Spring City; Debra A. Batten of East Norriton; H. Diane Hilborn, wife
of Ray Hilborn of Spring City; Stacey L. Silvestri, wife of Mike Silvestri of
Spring City; and one son, Stephen R. Batten, husband of Cindy Batten of Spring
City.
Mrs. Batten, the former Elizabeth Godshall, was a substitute
school nurse for the Spring-Ford School District. She retired in 1996.
Her husband is a 1996 retiree from Bachman Incorporated , formerly
Valley Main Inc., in Phoenixville and Reading, where he was a plant manager.
They were married on June 6, 1953 in Spring City Evangelical
Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ralph L. Alderfer.
The Battens have eight grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren.

Lightcap-Ambruch eng.
POTTSTOWN – The engagement of Ashley Lightcap and Zachary
Ambruch, both of Pottstown,
was announced by her parents, Russell and Mary Ann Lightcap,
639 Willow St., Pottstown.
Ms. Lightcap is a 2006 graduate of Pottstown High School, a
2009 graduate of Lock Haven University with a bachelor of science degree in
sports administration, and a 2011 graduate of Alvernia University with a master
of business administration degree.
Her fiancé is the son of Douglas and Ann Ambruch, 1407
Cherry Lane, Pottstown. A 2006 graduate of Pottstown High School, he is
employed with Walsh Construction.
A May 10, 2014 wedding at Spring Hollow Golf Club is
planned.
