BECHTELSVILLE - Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Hess, 1687 County Line Road, were honored on their 55^th wedding anniversary at a celebration hosted by their children at the Bowers Hotel, Bowers.

Mr. and Mrs. Hess are the parents of two sons, David Hess, husband of Brenda, of Barto; and Mark Hess, husband of Missy, of Boyertown.

Mrs. Hess, the former Arlene Wentzel, is a 1996 retiree of Boyertown Apparel where she was a sewing machine operator.

Her husband is a 2002 retiree of Boyertown Casket Co. where he was a handle installer, and Bally Block where he was a chop saw operator.

They were married on Aug. 9, 1958 at Hill Church in Boyertown by Pastor Lengel.

They have two grandchildren, Joshua Hess and Michele, wife of Joshua Letting.

Special friends in attendance at their celebration were Dwayne and Leann Eidle.
