BROOKFIELD, CONN. – The engagement of Amanda Newman and Brian Koehler, both of Brookfield, Conn., was announced by her parents, Charles and Jill Newman of Brookfield, Conn.

Ms. Newman is a 2005 graduate of Brookfield High School and a 2009 graduate of Philadelphia University with a degree in fashion merchandising. She is a district merchant with Macy’s in New York.

Her fiancé is the son of Joseph and Lori Koehler of Boyertown. He is a 2004 graduate of Boyertown Area School District, a 2008 graduate of Philadelphia University with a degree in architectural studies, and a 2009 graduate of Philadelphia University with a degree in business. He is a building manager with General Services Administration, New York.

A September 2014 wedding in Connecticut is planned.
